Oy vey. Edgar is a handful. For a Hufflepuff, he’s extremely outgoing and borders on obnoxious most of the time. He loves joking around and having fun and goes out of his way to try and make people smile. Sometimes he crosses the line with his goofing off, and it gets him into trouble with his professors and housemates, but he’s the guy that’s hard to stay mad at. When he’s made a big mistake, Edgar isn’t afraid to apologize or make amends. Being able to apologize and forgive are some of the most powerful tools a human can have and Edgar likes to live by that. He also likes to use ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’, even though he knows that's not necessarily true. He’s courageous and enthusiastic, especially about healing. He's always wanted to become a healer and has read everything he can understand (and most he can't) in the field of healing. Edgar is his own worst enemy sometimes, being overly critical about his mistakes, but that’s been his New Years resolution, to work on fixing mistakes and learning from them, rather than letting them pile up and weigh him down. He likes to think that he’s doing okay with it, but he has a problem with getting too close to a project and not giving up or stepping back when things aren't going right. Edgar is a silly romantic, willing to embarrass himself to win a girls’ affections. He’s not quite figured out that you don’t have to go all out all of the time and that often it’s misinterpreted and very exhausting, especially if they’re not really into you. He believes in The One, love at first sight and happily ever after. It’s quite sappy, and he blames that on his gran reading love stories to him when she babysat him while he was a tot. Edgar's best mate is Caradoc and they're nothing like James Potter and his flunkies. He and Caradoc are totally cooler than those Gryffindors. He throws himself into ‘projects’ fully, sometimes unable to withdraw before getting too hurt. His projects can be work or personal related, but whatever the thing, you’ve never seen someone so dedicated to their craft. He once followed a blue piece of paper from Regent’s Park all the way to Chelsea, just to see where it would end up. Turns out it was attached to the back of a lorry and just ended up chasing after an advert for hair gel. It wasn't a complete waste of time though, since Edgar had to spend the rest of the day trying to find his way back. |

| Them Boneses grew up in a moderately sized home in Kent, very content with their mediocre way of life. They were pureblooded but not blood fantics or involved in any sort of blood elitism. Living off of what one earned, instead of relying on what had been just given to you was a value that the Bones parents tried to instill in their children. There was never a want for anything basic, but going without those shoes or not getting to go on a trip was common while growing up in their house. Edgar never really cared though, since he and his siblings kept themselves entertained. Edgar was a pretty curious and nosy child and never really learned to knock (something that hasn't been fixed now that he's older and gets him into a bit of trouble now and then) and spent the greater part of his childhood trying to figure things out. He was eight when he first decided to be a healer - he and Jonathan had been messing around on the brooms (Jonathan was 12 and determined to be on the quidditch team the next year) and one had taken off, dropping Jonathan in the middle of the paddock with a sickening crunch. Their mother had to bring them both to the hospital and despite Jonathan's crying, Edgar was able to watch the healers knit his brother's arm back together with magic. He was completely fascinated and spends the majority of his free time (when not goofing off with Caradoc, but he doesn't consider that free time anyway) studying for his N.E.W.T.S. and H.O.R.S.E. (Healer's Official Rigorous Standardized Exam) so that he can be a Healer. Edgar is not alone in his quest to be a high achiever - he has an older sister named Amelia who spends all of her time working for the Wizengamot, and he has an older brother Jonathan who is one of the best Obliviators at the ministry. Despite their age range (Amelia is eight years older than Edgar and Jonathan is in the middle at four years younger/older than Amelia and Edgar respectively) they remain quite close. Edgar has always been the baby and consequently the one to tease and torture. He's got a good personality so Edgar doesn't mind it that much. They have a fun relationship and take care of each other, though Edgar has been forced to deal with the fact that his siblings are humans and not superheroes (even though they might act it) and it's been a hard transition for him with Jonathan getting married. Since he's still in school, it hasn't quite affected him, but his plans for going to live with Jonathan in some bachelor flat have been ruined and Edgar tries not to hold it against his sister-in-law but he maintains that he's the baby and allowed to feel upset about it. | ||
